Thomas B. Alvis

	Thomas B. Alvis, 53, of DuQuoin, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2000 at his residence.
	Tom was a contractor and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in DuQuoin.  
	He was born May 1, 1946 at DuQuoin, the son of James Franklin and Charity (Patton) Alvis.  He married Sharon S. Royster on July 17, 1993 at DuQuoin and she survives.
	In addition to his wife of DuQuoin, he is survived by his mother, Charity Alvis of DuQuoin; children, Cindy Davis of DuQuoin, Thomas S. Alvis  of Tamaroa, Danny P. Alvis of Tamaroa, Scott Eric Alvis of Coulterville and Timothy James Alvis of Tamaroa; step-sons, Joseph Myers of Sesser and Mike Draege of DuQuoin, step-daughter, Kimberly Clark of Tamaroa; two sisters, Jo Ann Carlock of DuQuoin and Effie Gauch of Elkville and 18 grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his father; step-son, Robert Taylor; two sisters, Patsy Rodely and Wilma Ruth Alvis and two brothers, Jimmy and Jackie Alvis.
	Funeral services were Wednesday, January 5 at 2 p.m. at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating.
	Friends were able to call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin.
	Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park at DuQuoin.
	Friends may make memorials to the Perry County Hospice.
